Custom Painted Pet Portraits by Amy’s Creative Corner

Custom Painted Pet Portraits by Amy’s Creative Corner Searching for the perfect Christmas gift for your pet loving friend? Not sure what to give the pet lover on your list? There’s still time to give someone the gift of having their pet’s portrait done, it’s unique and fun at the same time! Amy’s Creative Corner was recently featured in a Cary Magazine Feature during a promotion of local business in Cary, North Carolina. Here at Waggers Professional Pet Sitting we recently had the opportunity to meet Amy Yeager and speak with her about a cross marketing promotion that our Waggers marketing manager was planning. Quickly things became too busy to plan our client event, but then it dawned on me, I can easily promote Amy’s Creative Corner right here on the Waggers website. As for the event, we plan to hold it in the future. Below is a description of the custom pet gifts you can contact Amy Yeager for; “Here’s an explanation for you about Amy’s Creative Corner…I specialize in custom painted pet portraits and handmade gifts including pendant necklaces and stationery. My paintings are made with love and last a lifetime…not to sound cheezy. Ha! But really people can feel confident in giving gifts that are meaningful and unique. I love hearing stories from customers about their pets and seeing how happy they are with my products. I am a local Cary artist, but I can ship my wares anywhere in the world. Does this help a little?” -Amy Yeager Why YES Ms. Amy Yeager, it helps ALOT!! These will help you even more – watch the videos below to learn how Amy’s Creative Corner began and then view some of her recent work! How Amy’s Creative Corner began… One more question for you Ms. Amy, does my pet need to have a sitting to be painted? “I work off of photos that can be emailed to me. If they don’t have it digitally, (if it is a pet that passed away and they don’t have any digital files, etc.) then they can mail actual photos too. My Etsy shop is where people can see all the different sizes and prices of portraits, handmade gifts and other misc. art I do. This is also where they can make their purchases as well. Let me know any other questions you may have. Thanks!!” -Amy Yeager Some of Amy Yeager’s work.. Amy’s Creative Pet Portraits also has gift certificates you can purchase and give as a gift! Unbelieveably the gift cards themselves are hand painted! Let them pick out exactly that they want this holiday season! You can also see Amy Yeager’s work locally in several places where it is displayed such as, Woof Gang Bakery in North Hills. Woof Gang Bakery has several pieces available for consignment, or for viewing before placing an order for your own custom pet portrait. If you are headed to downtown Raleigh anytime soon, feel free to drop by the recently opened Kindred on Wilmington St in Raleigh. Kindred is a boutique geared toward helping local artisans grow their business, make sure you have time on your hands if you go, they have over 20 artisans on display. Amy’s Creative Corner also has work on display and a mural at All Dogs Together in Cary, and other murals at the Mosaic Church in Cary. Thanksgiving Pet Sitting Services Do you have an upcoming vacation on your mind? Are these the faces you see when your pet realizes the suitcases are being filled? I know everytime I pull mine out and begin to organize my dogs look at me like “Say it ain’t so… where are YOU going? Pets Who Honor Veteran’s Day

Posted by on Nov 8, 2012 in Cary Pet Sitters, Cats, Dogs, Hamsters, Interest, Rabbits | Comments Off on Pets Who Honor Veteran’s Day

Pets Who Honor Veteran’s Day This looks great! I was just looking to find something about how Pets are impacted, or should be honored for their service during Veteran’s Day and WhAALAA! Watch the Hero Dog Awards Preview Video here The Hero Dog Awards were created by the American Humane Association to celebrate the powerful relationship between dogs and people. The annual national competition searches out and recognizes America’s Hero Dogs – often ordinary dogs who do extraordinary things, whether it’s saving lives on the battlefield, lending sight or hearing to a human companion, or just welcoming you home at the end of a hard day. The 2012 Hero Dog Awards will be hosted by film and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth. Chenoweth joins a roster of celebrity supporters of the Hero Dog Awards, including special honoree Betty White, red carpet host Joey Lawrence and celebrity judges Whoopi Goldberg, Victoria Stilwell, Candy Spelling, Miranda Lambert, Kristin Bauer Van Straten, Michelle Forbes, J.R. Martinez, Tinsley Mortimer, and Megyn Price, among many others. Dogs may be nominated in eight categories for the Hero Dog Awards: Law Enforcement & Arson Dogs; Service Dogs; Therapy Dogs; Military Dogs; Guide Dogs; Search and Rescue Dogs; Hearing Dogs; and Emerging Hero Dogs (the category for ordinary dogs). Finalists in each category will be judged by a blue-ribbon panel consisting of both celebrities and animal experts, to determine the winning American Hero Dog. SPOILER ALERT: Gabe began his service to the United States of America as a Military Working Dog in 2006 and as such has had an impact not only on the life of Charles Shuck, his handler, but indeed American soldiers around the world. Gabe has been stationed from Fort Lewis, Washington, to Fort Bliss, Texas, to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Fort Hood, Texas. While deployed to Iraq, he completed over 210 combat missions with 26 finds of explosives and weapons. When Gabe is not leading a combat mission he frequently visited wounded troops in Army hospitals and he visited school children in elementary schools. Gabe was selected as the American Kennel Club Heroic Military Working Dog in 2008 and was the runner up in the American Humane Association Military Working Dog category for the 2011 Hero Dog Awards. Gabe retired in 2009 after a very distinguished career earning over 40 awards and coins of excellence for his work. What he does is out of a love for his country and the people of the United States. Gabe continues to visit schools and inspire children with compassion and respect and the importance of staying in school. Gabe will proudly represent the U.S. Military Police for many years to come. Congratulations to the 2012 American Hero Dog, Gabe! Check out the rest of the 2012 Hero Dog Awards...

Pet sitter for Labor Day weekend (Cary, NC & surrounding areas)

Posted by on Aug 22, 2012 in Cary Pet Sitters, Cats, Dogs, Hamsters, Rabbits | Comments Off on Pet sitter for Labor Day weekend (Cary, NC & surrounding areas)

Pet sitter for Labor Day weekend? Or Allow your home to look like this when you return from Labor Day weekend? Have you considered finding a pet sitter to watch over your pillows? Pet-sitting services are a great alternative to boarding for dogs and cats. Here is a short list of questions to ask yourself when you are making such an important decision. Do your pets have problems with large groups of animals? Though many dogs seem to like the social aspects of a boarding kennel, shy, aggressive or nervous dogs may be stressed by groups. Cats and birds can be intimidated by other animals as well. Has your pet experienced separation anxiety when away from his own home and family? While many pets, especially dogs, enjoy new experiences, some feel much more secure at home. Keeping their habits the same can be good for their mental and physical health. Do your pets have all the vaccinations required for boarding? For the protection of all dogs in a kennel, a bordetella (kennel cough) inoculation is required twice a year and other vaccines must be given annually. Owners of dogs and cats that have had bad reactions to vaccinations in the past may prefer not to vaccinate often and therefore cannot board. Is your pet older or does he/she require specific care due to health problems? Older pets are often happiest when their routines and surroundings are constant. Pets who require special health care will likely get a much better service from a pet sitter. Do have multiple pets? It can get very expensive to board more than one pet and you can get a much cheaper and personal service with a pet sitter. Do you prefer knowing that your pets are at home in familiar surroundings? With a pet sitter you don’t have to worry about getting your pets to a boarding facility, how they might react to the facility and arranging pickup when you come home. With a pet sitter, your loving pet will be waiting for you when you walk through the door!   If you would like more information about our services, simply visit us here.
